Leslie Cooper, Ph.D., MPH, BSN, RN, FAAN
Dr. Leslie Cooper is a female retired, disabled Veteran. She served active duty in the
United States Public Health Service (USPHS), for over thirty years in several capacities.
She has served as a team leader in numerous scientific programs that focus on various
scientific issues (cancer, HIV/AIDS, lung disorders, and more). Using community
partnerships and engagement, she works to empower communities through seminars,
workshops, physical fitness classes, screenings, and more. Leading the health ministry
at her church (Zion Baptist Church, DC), they work in partnerships and collaborations
with others in the Washington Metropolitan Area. She believes in and encourages all
populations to become active and engaged in research that will benefit and strengthen
their communities.
